.bitcoin extension

So I think that as the world begins to use crypto more and more that domain names that can be used to link your crypto wallets will grow in popularity the same way IG/twiter names are. So instead of sending someone a really long random address I can say 'pay me at myname.bitcoin' . and have it linked to my wallet. Unstoppable domains has them as well .crypto .x .nft .dao and others. They can also be used for websites of course. I bought a couple for $40. Am I crazy thinking this will be a thing or is this just a meh?? thoughts.
