So back in 2013 I created some paper wallets before I left to travel. These were all empty wallets, just created to send any BTC to at a later date.
Around 2015 I sent small amounts of BTC to one of those wallets.
I then forgot about them all. Recently I found the paper wallets and send $2 worth of BTC to one to see if I could get it off easily.
I have tried scanning the QR code of the private key with Coinomi and Mycelium to "sweep" the wallet, but it's asking for a passphrase. I know at the time when I created these wallets all I did was wiggle the mouse around to create the wallet, then printed it off. It never asked for a password and I never entered one.
What's going on?! Is it still possible to get the contents of these wallets onto another device or are they permanently HODLed now???
