ATTN: noobs. 5% is not a correction or crash.

Sup everyone? Lots of posts today asking about “buying the dip” and “a correction was coming”. A 5% pullback isn’t a correction. That’s a 10-20% retracement after a run up that we just had. Buying the dip is subjective and depends on your personal strategies for accumulating. Buying a dip is not DCAIng despite popular belief. DCAing is putting in a predetermined amount at the same time in a specific timeframe that you have chosen (Daily, weekly, monthly, etc.) regardless of market activity/sentiment.

If you have the funds and a buy will drop your avg buy in price, then that’s a decent play and up to you. If it won’t affect your buy in price and you already DCA it’s probably less advantageous to buy now.

If you don’t have the funds, don’t buy. Don’t take out loans, don’t ask for money, don’t liquidate other holdings/resources.
