I've been wondering this since Gen3, where so many avatars were dropped that we weren't sold out before Gen 4 which had a significantly higher volume available too and relatively few avatars that moved on the secondary market at all.
Alongside the volume increase higher prices than in Gen1 and 2 were a consistent theme with only the very high priced avatars having low(ish) mints.
The free avatar drops aside from the Unicorn rabbid have also had huge mint numbers that were never scooped up in their entirety.
Why am I waffling about this now you might ask, we know all of this. Well it's because of the new drop that happened last night that I ask if we are done with it conceptually.
First, I was under the incorrect impression that this would be a free drop, fine, it isn't. So be it. But in finding the drop this morning, completely unadvertised, I see that the low mint 500 series has not sold out.
This seems unheard of to me. 500 is a low mint number, but I can still buy one hours after the drop. So I guess the question is, are they still there because it is F1 and not many people care? Is it because the designs are bad? (This never seems a barrier to speculators) Or are we actually at a point where very few people care about it at all?
Appreciate any thoughts on this.
