A beginner question about securing BTC long term

Bitcoin Reddit

More / Bitcoin Reddit 101 Views

I have some BTC that I'd like to store and forget, it's for my kids to have in 20-30 years.

I have half on a ledger and half on a lightning node.

I decided to close my lightning channels and move all my BTC to the ledger for long term keeping.

I'd like to stamp the seed phrase on some stainless steel and lock it away.

Question: I have a seed phrase for ledger. If i were to throw away my ledger, can I just keep the seed phrase for 20 years and then recover the BTC without using a ledger for recovery?

Is this a good method or should I do something else?
